We hope to see everyone at the Uxbridge Studio Tour (September 17 & 18) – one of the most popular annual art events in north Durham Region!
During the 2016 Tour, our artists dust themselves down, clean the paint/clay/grit from their hands and put themselves, and some of our best creative friends, on display for art lovers.
This year you can find Lynn Bishop at site 9 (click here for directions) along with her guests mixed media artist Tom Loach and painter Lauren Saunders. Lynn's studio is both beautiful and fascinating. Visiting her at her studio is a wonderful way to gain insight into how she creates her works but it's also a fabulous place to see the work she currently has available for visitors to purchase and take home with them.
Potter Vanessa Slater and wood turner Frank Ditomaso will be a guest artists of glass sculptor Francis Muscat at site 11 (click here for directions). Francis Muscat's studio is tucked away in a beautiful area just north of Uxbridge. Visiting this studio is always a delight. Vanessa and the other artists will have loads of original pieces available for purchase. Don't miss this opportunity to see (and hold) some of Vanessa's stunning original pottery pieces, and take some home to enjoy.
Sculptor & furniture creator Mike Wilkins will be hosting abstract painter Carolyn Bather and jeweller Jeannine Rosenberg at site 24 (click here for site 24 directions) Site 24 is a great place to visit to see and purchase the work of these 3 talented artists, but it's also a great opportunity to see the Wilkins' private collection of local art. On display you will see works from Mary Philpott & Sharon Nielsen who are at Site 27 this year, as well as past studio tour artists Max Marian Kalin, Shelly Burke, and Marni Grossman.
